Journalism
The Journalism faculty offer a rich variety of
professional experience in online media, daily and weekly newspapers,
magazines, and in radio and television. The curriculum emphasizes journalism
skills, professional ethics and an understanding of the role and function of
the press in democratic societies.
There are four sequences: Magazine journalism,
photojournalism, broadcast journalism, and reporting & editing. For a

Photojournalism program
San José State University's photojournalism program is
one of the oldest accredited programs in the west, and rates number eight in
the nation. The program's rich history boasts two Pulitzer Prize winners,
Hearst Journalism Award
winners, and alumni at newspapers around the nation.
Students in the photojournalism program network with industry
professionals, intern as
photojournalists at local and national newspapers and magazines, and work for
The Spartan Daily.
