Undergraduate curriculum
Mass Communications covers a huge range of issues and pursuits, but JMC's courses for undergrads help students separate the static from the substance. Classes begin with the basics and broad topics, to give students a strong understanding of how communication works across disciplines, and how technology is used to create, shape and transmit messages. Upper-division classes then focus on specific areas in which students develop expert knowledge.
By the time JMC students graduate, these classes have given undergrads the tools they'll need to both perform well in traditional occupations and adapt to the ever–changing high–tech job market. Our undergrads don't just learn how to perform tasks—they learn how to think.
